The Power of Digital Twin and DPP: Our November Recap

November 2024 has been filled with impactful events, collaborations and innovation where we had the opportunity to connect with many people passionate about and actively involved in the development of the Digital Twin and Digital Product Passport (DPP).

IwoFurn Summit, Cologne

Mastering the future Digital Product Passport for Furniture

The IwoFurn Summit in Cologne, themed “Den Digitalen Produktpass meistern” (Mastering the Digital Product Passport) provided useful insights into the impact and implementation of the DPP.

The furniture industry faces unique challenges due to its dual compliance requirements: the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). This makes the DPP not just a regulatory necessity but a powerful tool for demonstrating sustainability and streamlining operations.

The focus was on the added value the DPP offers beyond compliance, including:

  • Enhanced warranty tracking
  • Improved supply chain transparency
  • Support for circular economy initiatives

We are actively supporting the furniture industry’s transition to the future DPP, providing solutions that simplify adoption and maximize efficiency.

IwoFurn Summit, Cologne

SPS 2024

Simplify AAS Generation for being ready for future DPP Implementation

Under the headline “Automated AAS Generation – Enable Your Use Cases incl. DPP4.0”, we showcased our innovative product at the booth of the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA).

At SPS, it became clear: the industry is finally recognizing that Asset Administration Shell (AAS) are not merely a theoretical construct confined to white papers and presentations; they are the indispensable foundation upon which effective AAS solutions are built. This shift in understanding is essential for driving real-world adoption and realizing the transformative potential of the AAS.

Our Product Manager, Andreas Wick, delivered a presentation titled Die Asset Administration Shell einfach in Anwendung bringen (Simplifying the Application of Asset Administration Shells), providing practical guidance on:

  • Addressing key challenges in AAS adoption
  • Streamlining AAS implementation for businesses of all size

2nd Forum DPP4.0

Driving DPP Implementation in Alignment with EU Directives

2nd Forum DPP4.0

At the 2nd Forum DPP4.0, hosted by ZVEI, we presented our latest insights on future DPP implementation, drawing upon our collaborative work with ZVEI on the development of a potential DPP4.0 architecture.

The event reinforced our strategic direction, showcasing how dynamic and context-driven AAS generation aligns with EU requirements.

Lastly, our General Manager, Joerg Nagel, contributed to “Realität trifft Vision: AG Use Cases und Digitale Services”, sharing valuable insights and real-world examples of how businesses can successfully implement the AAS for being prepared for future DPP.

Soffico Orchestra Symposium

Soffico Orchestra Symposium

Soffico Orchestra Symposium

Soffico Orchestra Symposium allowed us to connect with long-time partners and explore the future of Soffico’s Orchestra product. The discussions focused on the evolving role of shopfloor data integration, the influence of data spaces and the Digital Product Passport on German SMEs’ digital transformation journey.

Emphasized the need for a proactive approach, addressing concerns like data location, quality, and compliance with regulations such as the Data Act, Cyber Resilience Act and Product Pass.

The event brought together numerous representatives from SMEs, providing a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing and networking.

ECLASS Webinar

Our recent webinar, “Stop Trying, Start Doing! – The Technical Implementation and Use of a Digital Product Passport (DPP)” showcased the successful collaboration between Neoception, ECLASS e.V., and BCon².

This webinar demonstrated the seamless integration of ECLASS semantics, BCon² templates and our Neoception® Digital Twin Infrastructure with the Asset Administration Shell (AAS). We highlighted how this combination uses automation to transform raw data from existing systems into actionable Asset Administration Shells (AAS), allowing scalable, efficient and business-generating DPP AAS solutions, among others the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
