How do you show in three minutes what a Digital Product Passport can actually do in practice? At Bosch Connected World 2026, MHP and Neoception did not build a slide deck. Using a cocktail machine, they generated real material passports as one expression of a digital product passport. Every individually mixed cocktail receives its own digital twin: with origin, recipe, CO₂ footprint and lifecycle data, accessible via QR code. One use case, three months of implementation, one proof point: AAS-based digital twins can be put to work today.
data everywhere, continuity nowhere
Digital Product Passports are becoming a regulatory requirement, but the data behind them is usually scattered across ERP, MES and supplier systems. The real challenge is rarely the individual data source. It is end-to-end orchestration: how do you bring data from production, logistics and master data management together into a single, trustworthy digital twin, live, role-based and across the entire product lifecycle?
For MHP, this was also the expected main hurdle at the start of the project: not data integration in isolation, but the end-to-end orchestration of the overall scenario.

The Smart Cocktail Factory
Instead of an abstract industrial example, MHP and Neoception used something everyone understands immediately for Bosch Connected World 2026: a cocktail. At the trade fair stand, guests order their individual cocktail through an interface, for example “Healthy” or “Powerful”. In the background, a new instance is created in the Neoception software straight away.
A QR code makes this digital twin visible to the guest: the origin of the ingredients, the recipe, sustainability figures such as the CO₂ footprint, and the production status in real time. The guest scans the code at the iCocktail7 mixing machine, which recognises the individual recipe. Production starts and the cocktail data updates live until the finished drink is served with a complete digital twin.

How the solution works technically
Integration ran through AI² as the central middleware between the systems and assets involved: equipment, order and purchasing data came together here, while SAP Digital Manufacturing provided the required production data and acted as the central interface for exchanging information between the ordering system and manufacturing. On this basis, an ordering app automatically created new AAS instances, the digital twins of the individual cocktails. These were orchestrated by Neoception and continuously enriched with further data from AI² along their entire lifecycle, from order through production to delivery.
Neoception software functions used: template-based modelling of the assets involved, automated creation of AAS instances based on these templates, triggered by the ordering app, API-based connection to AI², an Excel connector for master data, and QR code based access to product information through the integrated viewer.

Four sources, one Digital Twin

Within around three months, from concept to implementation, a complete end-to-end demonstrator was built for Bosch Connected World. It shows live and verifiably that Digital Product Passports, traceability and AAS-based digital twins are technically feasible across the entire product lifecycle. Not as a vision of the future, but as a working setup that visitors could operate themselves.
One aspect proved a particularly positive surprise: how straightforward scaling turned out to be.
New data sources could be connected easily, which meant the scenario could be extended flexibly without rebuilding the architecture.

What the demonstrator shows
The smart cocktail demonstrator is a small, tangible example of a larger principle: Digital Product Passports cannot be brought about by a single software product alone. They emerge where integration expertise, such as the expertise MHP brings with AI², meets a scalable digital twin infrastructure, as provided by Neoception with the Asset Administration Shell.
